According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, Serie A giants AC Milan have stolen a march on the rivals to sign Atletico Madrid’s highly rated midfielder, Koke, after representatives from the club have offered the player a lucrative contract.
As per the report, Milan are contacting Koke’s agent to offer him a deal worth €4m a season which is more than what he is earning at Vicente Calderon. The 21-year is a technically gifted football who has been labelled as the potential successor to Xabi in the Spain squad.
Koke has been targeted by Manchester United and Liverpool as well. Central midfield is one of the areas that need reinforcement for Man Utd and manager David Moyes could try for him who has a release clause of £17m.
The best attribute of Koke is his versatility. He has scored two goals this season and provided eight assists so far, and have directly contributed to Atletico’s success story in the Premier League so far. The thing with so many European heavy weights are plotting a move to sign the youngster, it won’t be easy for Manchester United to convince Koke to move to Old Trafford in January.
The Red Devils had targeted Ander Herrara in the summer transfer window and could go for him again in January. Likewise Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers could be looking to add a creative player to add support to star players Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
