Has anyone else noticed the absolute downturn in quality since Caughtoffside was taken over by Sportingo? There’s so little analysis on the site these days… it’s just a series of recycled wisecracks and articles designed deliberately to provoke slanging matches (NOT debates), most of which end with trite questions. The intent is very clearly to reel in as many idiots as possible and there seems little desire to add any insight to the news, much of which is effectively copied-and-pasted from the BBC transfer rumours column. They have also attempted to pad out the site (and paper over the cracks of inanity) by expanding the “three things you learned” series, once one of the most appealing parts of the blog, diluting it and taking away its effectiveness.

In short, Ahmed, don’t mess up Soccerlens in the same way!

I’m with Hugo & Iqnadirshah. As long as it doesn’t affect the quality of THIS site.

You know, Rupert Murdoch used to do a lot of this shite in his early days (cross-advertising, tabloid feeding frenzies, titillation for 50p etc etc) just to gain market share. Come to think of it, he still does.

Dont get me wrong. I have nothing against those pics(and nothing for them also). Nowadays when i see one of those, i just chuckle and read on. But Football gossip? The one on kits is good. But cmon, football gossip? WTF?

Ahmed knows my opinion on this sort of stuff, so I won’t bother repeating the sentiments of spiral and ignadir.

On the other hand, so long as it doesn’t affect the quality of soccerlens, then we needn’t worry. It’s not like anyone is forcing you to go on that site. Also, hopefully spells the end of those pics at the beginning of articles.
