Really well written article, nice job. iqnadirshah, although Clough was the initially involved and maybe responsible for decission making, there are many other people around who also have to take over responsibility.

Thank you for an excellent article. BTW Dan Leo, Nottinghan Forest should not be included with the rest. It was one man and one man alone (who else but Brian Clough) who got them to the lofty heights and it was the same man (or rather his habits) who brought them down…………both the ascent and descent were rather speedy when compared to the others…………

As someone who saw the very end of Strel’zov’s career, I can say that Mr. Smith’s is an excellent article.

But one can say the same or more for the likes of Leeds, Nottingham Forrest and Fortuna Dusseldorf.

As to the memories of Bannikov, Sakharov and Kavazashvili, they’ll live on just the same.
