After acquiring the services of Ander Hererra, Manchester United are set to complete their second signing of the summer as it now appears that the Luke Shaw is set to have his medical ahead of the £34m move from Southampton.

Sky Sports journalist Graeme Bailey took to Twitter to report the potential developments.

With the England national team touching down to Manchester after a disastrous World Cup campaign in Brazil, the Red Devils are eager to complete Shaw’s medical as the club has agreed a deal worth an initial £27m that could rise to £34m with add ons.

Luke Shaw england £34m rated star snubs Chelsea ahead of Manchester United medical

The Southampton star had been linked with United over the past few weeks with Chelsea also interested but the player, as it now seems has decided to snub his boyhood club in favour of a move to Manchester.

Shaw had a terrific season under Mauricio Pochettino at the south coast club who finished eighth in the Premier League standings in the 2013-14 season.

With Alexander Buttner leaving United to join Dynamo Moscow and Patrice Evra not getting any younger with each passing day, Shaw will definitely muster a starting eleven spot for the Red Devils under Louis Van Gaal’s tenure at Old Trafford.

  1. Still think it is way too much for someone who has had just one good season. Fair enough he is young but I think his current value is too rich. I’d put him more in the 15m bracket. For that money I’d expect him to defend at 100% when not running forward to contribute 50% of all assists and score at least 10 goals a season.

    • I used to be of the same opinion but when Bale went for more than Ronaldo, I realised that those broken records had changed the market… Think about how much Hannibal Suarez is being offered for and you’ll see that any half decent player is above 20. If he’sa bit special. ..30 to 40…
Heck, Juventus value OUR prodigal son at 60!

  2. are you sure luke shaw will be having medical in man utd ? I’ll be glad if it’s real and i dont care how much we bought him cuz man utd needs to come back 2 their normal position

  3. It’s quite clear Chelsea were never interested in Shaw and preferred to sign Luis from A.Madrid whose a much better defender
and whose just won the league in Spain.

  4. Hahahahaha: Seems like the Chelsea fans are jealous but ,we the United fans are happy and there is more to come …Already ,we’ve got Louis Van Gaal on the touchline and the Cash to Spend and overhaul players this summer.Welcome to Manchester United, Ander Herrera.

  5. I hate the way english players are over-hyped.there are better left back that won’t cost that much.i am sure even koke won’t cost that much.stupid english players.they can’t even complete one dribble.i am against this move.
