English players are at a premium in the Premier league because of pressure for “home grown” talent, and indeed an anticipated increase of that pressure, perhaps to the extent of legislation. The media, the FA, world governing bodies, and to a certain extent the fans are all driving the clubs towards having more English talent, and with the huge talent pool the premiership have to pick from there is little wonder English and even British players prices go through the roof. Robbie Keane!

sadly, noone buys them. i mean who even wants to buy lampard, terry, cole or any english player.

Do you think currency is also a factor? Everyone thinks in their own currency so when an English club thinks a foreign player is worth 20m they are thinking 20m pounds, which of course is more like 25m Euors. There is arguably a 20% ‘on top’ amount built in which is obviously not there for home based deals.
