Great post, Ahmed, thanks. The problem with stories like these appearing in the Guardian is that the paper’s credibility and intellectual stance gives the pieces far more weight than the general run of gossip in the tabloids.

Love them for the same reasons you do, but I’m not going anywhere near the transfer rumours this time.

Just the three? What about the completely ridiculous pro-Arsenal anti-United rant from Paul Wilson about how Scolari could ‘learn a lot from Wenger’ recently? Their agenda is quite clear for all to see and its really becoming quite dull. This article is spot on.

Great stuff, Ahmed. I often think that if more bloggers looked at more newspaper stories with an eye toward comparing what was actually said with how it was reported, it might help to curb some of the worst media excesses. It’s out of control at this point; a player says “I like sunshine” and the next day’s headline quotes him as demanding a transfer to Monaco.

As for your starting line up for Chelsea, i don’t see out midfield being Deco, Lampard, Ballack and Essien, Move deco to the bench and put Kalou into a 4-3-3 formation, which i believe would also then change your little figures.

The Gruniad is the worst paper on the planet. It’s lies from start to finish, its anti Spurs bias right through the ridiculous Polly ( don’t do as I do, do as I say) Tonybee to their continued propoganda for the myth of global warming!!

Don’t read newspapers until they ALL start investigating and reporting facts from an unbiased view point again….

They can’t compete with the Internet so they go for more and more sensationalist nonsense

They’re improving then. This rag is an appalling shadow of what it used to be. Every bit as bad as the Sun/Mirror etc. They rarely publish anything that shows United in a favourable light despite recent successes.
