World Cup 2014: Russia Away Kit
The best feature of this uniform is its lightness. With net weight of just 320 grams, it is 40% lighter than the previous one in 2012 (510 grams).
Another special feature is its unique design, inspired by the achievements of Russia in the field of science (exploring space and latest technologies) that have been used in kit production.
The new kit will help the players cope with the physical activities in difficult hot weather conditions and intense trainings.
Using the Adizero technology, the kit makes it more comfortable to wear, helping them to be faster in their movements.
The uniform is made from a special compressive material that stretches in the areas most needed during movements therefore it gives good support to muscles and great breathability.
There is the Adidas logo and the Russian National emblem of the Double-Headed Eagle below the print. The collar is made using the Russian Flag colours and the base white colour of the kit is associated with the traditional colour of the space suites and colour of the clouds.
Concept & Inspiration
The design of the kit has been influenced by Russia’s unparalled success in the space technology. The Earth Scientific Monitoring Centre took part in developing process of the kit and they delivered unique pictures of Earth, taken from the Russian space satellite ‘Electro-L’ #1 to Adidas.
Further, the image shows same perspective from which Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, saw Earth in 1961.
Both the home and the away kit are inspired by the achievements of the Soviet astronauts in the 1960′s.
