Joe Hart will probably be first-choice soon, I think he should be already. A lot will probably depend on James' form. Hard to see Richards beating out Glen Johnson at right-back on current form. If Gary Cahill can maintain his form, he should be a shoo-in for the squad, though he probably won't get a look unless Terry or Ferdinand are injured.

None of the rest have impressed me much, though I'm not sure I've ever seen Rodwell or Tomkins play.

Kudos to Alex for writing this piece. What's interesting to me is that the pundits and press have been saying for years that foreign players are killing the British game. Yet, as we see, there is definitely no lack of talent. The bread and butter of teams like Leeds United, Southampton, Sheffield United is in their academies these days. Starting up in the Championship, or League One and Two may actually make for better players than the reserve system used by so many Premier League clubs.

well Delph has moved to Aston Villa, and if O'Neill starts to give him games, who knows he might be that wild card that Don Capello will bring to South Africa.

Delph has been hyped like nothing I've seen in years. As an old fart I am reminded of all the fuss made about Charlie George, Peter Marinello and Charlie Cooke years ago. The bottom line is that he hasn't even performed in the Premier League yet. Talk about putting him in the England squad is premature at best. Give the kid a break.

delph is a prospect, not even close to good enough yet.

wilshere is good but not that good, as a matter of fact neither is gibbs with both bridge and now everton's left back ahead of him.

Of those listed only mark noble and joe hart have a realistic chance and only if they do well in the coming season. The rest of them are just not good enough. yet.

Wilshere won't be included - he's far too young. Capello is no Sven.

I can't see many of yours listed getting included, apart from Joe Hart and maybe Cahill and Richards.

Wilshere and Delph should have made that list. They are proper outsiders and both have an excellent chance if things go well this season.....

I think your missing Jack Wilshire.

He is incredibly ahead of development at 17.
